Venables ranked #1 Coordinator on the Rise

Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables has had his defense playing at a very high level the last few years and national media pundits are taking notice.

Athlon Sports ranked its Top 10 Coordinators on the Rise this week and Brent Venables was ranked #1 on the national list.

Here are a few defensive stats to show how well the Tigers are playing.

The Tigers are ranked 13th nationally in total defense this year and were #1 statistically last year.

Clemson's defense had 11 tackles for loss against Georgia Tech which is a category that the team has led the nation for the last two seasons.

Finally, the Yellow Jackets were held to only 71 rushing yards by Clemson on Saturday which was 240.8 yards below their season average.
