won the 2011 Connolly Cup. The award is given annually to the top high school football player in Western New York. This was the 40th anniversary of the Connolly Cup, the award was presented on Saturday. Kelly put up record setting numbers for the Marauders in his senior season. Kelly passed for a Western New York single season record 3,050 yards and 27 touchdowns. On the ground Kelly added 991 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns. In just two seasons at St. Joe's Kelly has passed for 5,209 yards, the third highest total in Western New York history. Kelly ranks 18th in New York state for career passing yards. In his junior season Kelly became the first quarterback in New York state history to pass for 2000 yards and rush for 1000 yards in one year. This season Kelly led St. Joe's to a 8-3 overall record. The Marauders lost to St. Francis in the Monsignor Martin Championship game.
