Four-star running back
Phil Mafah (Loganville, Ga.) started Clemson’s 2021 class officially with a commitment after visiting Thursday.
Mafah is regarded as a top-150 prospect overall by Rivals (146; No. 6 RB in the nation) and follows in the footsteps of former Grayson High School product Wayne Gallman to campus. Mafah averaged 8.1 yards per carry with 10 rushing touchdowns and added a receiving touchdown as well last season. He camped at Clemson this summer: David Hood analysis: "While watching the running backs, I was impressed with Loganville (GA) Grayson product Phil Mafah. Mafah is listed at 6-1, 213 pounds and looks a little bigger than that. He has 28 total offers, including Auburn and Georgia and Florida St. Don’t let the size fool you – he can move. Looks like the prototypical big back but with the speed you love.” Breaking: 2021 4-star RB Phil Mafah @PhilMafah1 has committed to #Clemson.
