5-star Clemson defensive end commit Xavier Thomas and the Clemson fan base have been dealing with some Internet rumors circulating that he was going to reopen his recruiting in the near future.
Thomas posted the following on Twitter on Friday morning. "If you didn't hear it from me, don't believe it," Thomas said. "I'm a 17 year old kid trying to enjoy life, leave me b. Thanks." TigerNet spoke with Thomas on Sunday about his unofficial visit to watch Clemson's 14-6 win over Auburn. "It was special. Death Valley is a special place and those fans are really special," Thomas said. "There was a lot of energy in that stadium and they made an impact on the game. They had 11 sacks and the defense played great, and Auburn had just 38 rushing yards on 42 carries. Coach (Brent) Venables always comes up with a great scheme to stop the offense. That was pretty special." Thomas even got a chance to see the hill up close and personal before the start of the game. "It was great. When I went up on the hill, there were all kinds of fans saying my name and stuff," Thomas said. "Watching the team run down the hill, and seeing the team that close up running down the hill, I could see myself doing that." "Are any of these decommittment rumors true?" ?????? #AllIn @atxlete pic.twitter.com/KTGHuDHTSK If you didn't hear it from me, don't believe it.
