Clemson has offered 2019 athlete T.J. McDaniel from Southlake, TX (Southlake Carroll HS) on Friday according to his Twitter account.
"VERY EXCITED to say I have received an offer from Clemson University," McDaniel posted. TigerNet spoke with McDaniel moments after the offer and he had the following response. "It’s exciting, first division one offer is always awesome to have," McDaniels said. He said that the coaching staff will continue to evaluate him but he is more likely offered as a safety. McDaniel wants to visit Clemson and will have to set up a time with defensive coordinator Brent Venables on a possible visit. Venables and Clemson assistant coach Mickey Conn visited the high school on Thursday. He has offers from Azusa Pacific and Clemson and receiving high interest in schools such as Houston, Michigan State, and Notre Dame. The Tigers getting in early with this recruit should pay dividends once the offers start rolling in for him in the next few months. In 2017, he had 1,868 yards, 23 rushing touchdowns and was named first-team All-District 5-6A RB and honorable mention All-State honors. He is a three-year starter for his high school team and was named an All-District cornerback with three interceptions as a ninth-grader. Two of his younger brothers play football: Azusa Pacific running back Gavin McDaniel and Toronto Argonauts running back Cam McDaniel.
