Four-star 2017 defensive lineman
Jordan Williams out of Virginia Beach (VA) Cox has narrowed his final list of schools to four with Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Tennessee according to multiple reports.
Williams is a consensus 4-star recruit by all the major recruiting services and currently impressing coaches, scouts, etc at The Opening camp this weekend.
He is the No. 238 player in the ESPN300 and has 28 offers including from Clemson, Florida, Marshall, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Carolina, Southern California, Temple, Texas State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
As a junior, he had 39 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions, seven pass deflections, a forced fumble and recovered two fumbles including one returned for a touchdown. He wants to play defensive end in college.
The 6-5, 260-pounder is being recruited by Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and he plans to visit Clemson for the 2016 All-In cookout.
TigerNet spoke with Williams recently and he is excited to learn more about Clemson on his visit on July 22.
“I'm definitely going to make it to the All In Cookout," Williams said. "That's the last visit I have planned and I'm going to let the school that I'm going to know that it will be my last visit.” Williams said. “I'd like to see where I would be staying my freshman year if I went there. That's what I've been doing lately is comparing dorms. I want to sit down with academics and discuss my major and to see if they have it and what classes I would have to take and all of my credits I would need, in case I do go there because different schools have different standards for different majors, so I definitely want to discuss that and see where that all plays out.”
He plans to announce his college choice on August 6th at his high school at 5 p.m.
