MLB draft: Clemson junior RHP selected by Twins

Clemson junior right-hander Owen Griffith was selected in the 20th round of the MLB draft with the 599th overall pick.

Griffith (Aiken, S.C.) made 24 appearances in the 2019 season with a 2-2 record and a 5.40 ERA, posting 41 strikeouts to 22 walks with a .230 opposing batting average.

Over three seasons, Griffith has pitched 59 1/3 frames with a 4.55 ERA and 73 strikeouts to 38 walks.

He was rated the No. 1 pitcher in South Carolina and a third-team All-American out of high school by Perfect Game.
