Tigerama held at Death Valley for 1st time since 2002 |
CLEMSON — The 60th annual Tigerama Pep Rally Friday will commence the celebration of Clemson’s Homecoming weekend.
This is the first year since 2002 that the event will be held in Death Valley. It will be streamed live online on ClemsonTV. The theme of Tigerama and Homecoming this year is “Coming Home to Clemson.” “We chose [this theme] to symbolize all the alumni coming home to their alma mater, all the students that come to their collegiate home for four years and all of the potential new students who could come home to Clemson,” Tigerama student President Caroline Lewis said. The show will feature the Clemson football team, Tiger band, Clemson’s cheerleaders and the Rally Cats. The night will end with a fireworks display, including some Tiger paw-shaped fireworks. Students have been spending the week building elaborate floats on Bowman Field. Tickets can be purchased on the library bridge 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Thursday at the Hendrix student center at the information desk. On the day of the show, tickets will be sold in Hendrix and at the stadium’s Westzone box office. The festivities will begin at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Stadium. The stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. Pre-show events will occur from 5:30-6:30 p.m. featuring a Clemson student band called “The Blue Ridge Bandits,” as well as games and giveaways.
