UNC guard suspended before Clemson game |
North Carolina announced that 6-foot-3 freshman guard Jalek Felton has been suspended from the University on Tuesday. There is no timetable yet for his return and he will not be able to participate in any school activities.
The West Columbia, S.C. native has played in all 22 games this season in a bench role averaging 2.9 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. The loss of Felton and a nagging foot injury to sophomore guard Seventh Woods means that there isn't a lot of depth behind Joel Berry and the point guard position for the Tarheels. If Clemson's talented guards can wear down Berry with him playing extended minutes, it could be an exciting Tuesday night in Littlejohn Coliseum against #17 North Carolina. Coming out of high school, Felton was the No. 30 prospect in the 2017 class. He is the nephew of former North Carolina standout Raymond Felton.
