Swinney updates several injuries on team

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney held his weekly press conference on Tuesday morning and shared an update on the several injuries on his No. 6 ranked team.

Swinney shared that cornerback Mark Fields is questionable for Saturday's game against North Carolina State.

"He just got hurt in the last game he played (Syracuse)," Swinney said. "Just kind of hurt his arch in his foot. He had a hard time planting and cutting and doing what he needs. He's pushing through and hopefully, he will be back this week but we don't have any decision on that yet."

Marcus Edmond is still battling back from his lingering foot injury.

"He's still coming," Swinney said. "He's still not quite ready. Last week was the first time we put him in green (jersey) and really cut him loose to do the 1-on-1's and all that. My heart breaks for him. He wants to play so bad and he wants to get out there. He knows what he can do and you got to be able to play at a high level. That position your feet are everything - change of direction, lateral movement, weight transfer and he is still not quite there. He would have almost been better off to have broken a bone in his foot. Sometimes the type of mid-foot sprain he has had kind of lingers and takes time to heal up. He's getting better and at some point, he will be back. He's still not quite there."

Edmond has one tackle on the season before going down with the injury.

Dexter Lawrence appeared to be a victim of a brutal chop block in the first quarter against the Yellow Jackets but Swinney said he should be OK this week.

Lawrence has 24 tackles including 1.5 for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble this season.
