Clemson coach Dabo Swinney held his media teleconference on Sunday and shared an injury status of several key defenders after the win over Florida State.

Senior cornerback Ryan Carter was the victim of a targeting call on special teams and missed the remainder of the game.

"Ryan Carter was out of the game," Swinney said. "He was good in the locker room last night, but he will be in the (concussion) protocol this week."

For the season, Carter has 26 tackles, five pass deflections, and an interception.

Sophomore linebacker Tre Lamar has a stinger injury that he suffered against the Seminoles.

"He is getting an MRI today on his shoulder where he had a stinger," Swinney said. "I don't have any report back on that. It's going to be done this evening."

In 2017, Lamar has 51 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble.

Linebacker Kendall Joseph and defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence both didn't play against Florida State and Swinney said that their practice time will be determined by the training staff.

"That's all up to the trainers and the doctors. I get a report every morning," Swinney said. "I don't have anything to do with who practices and who doesn't. If they are in yellow, they don't practice. If they are in green, they are limited. If they are in orange, they are full go. That's the only plan we got. That's all based on what our doctors think."

Swinney thought that Joseph was going to be able to play against Florida State.

"Jabril (Robinson) was still a little gimpy too. We were able to hold him. Obviously Dexter," Swinney said. "We thought Kendall (Joseph) was going to be able to go, but he didn't quite feel good in warmups."

In 2017, Lawrence has 33 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble while Joseph has an impressive 74 tackles on the season.
