Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney spoke to the media during his press conference on Tuesday and shared a few injury updates on some of his key defenders.
Swinney says starting safety Tanner Muse should see a few more snaps with a new brace that allows him more mobility and range of motion.
"Hopefully we can get all those guys back (injured players) on board for a championship run. Tanner will be a lot better this week. We got up 17-0. We went more with our cover guys and it helps to have two hands. He will be in a better position this week (new cast). He's good to go with a little more range of motion."
Swinney says that senior cornerback Marcus Edmond will likely play this week and was "probable" to Swinney last week.
"He has done well and is best he has been and will be a big shot in the arm down the stretch," Swinney said. The head coach then said that he wouldn't be surprised if Edmond makes a team in the NFL and gushed how supportive his parents have been during Clemson's road games.
Swinney said that they will sit out Dexter Lawrence with his foot injury.
"We will probably hold Dex this week. We've got some depth there. He is a lot better. We really wanna give him the opportunity to get that thing 100 percent. He got hurt in the Georgia Tech game and got hit again in the NC State game. This past week has been great for him."
Swinney shared that linebacker Tre Lamar had a stinger injury from the Florida State game but the MRI showed no damage.
"His MRI was good. He had a stinger and they really wanted to check the neck area," Swinney said. "Everything was perfectly normal. He has a really irritated nerve, basically. He'll be fine."
During his call-in show on Monday night, Swinney said that he expects Mark Fields (foot) back this week.
