Swinney updates Trevor Lawrence availability for Wake Forest |
Clemson coach
Dabo Swinney held his Tuesday press conference and shared positive news about the injury status of freshman starting quarterback
Trevor Lawrence.
"I definitely expect him to be able to play," he said about Lawrence. "That is why I put him back in practice last night. I don’t see a reason why he wouldn’t." Swinney went into more details about the injury and how the team takes concussion symptoms seriously. "They felt it was more of a neck issue," he said. "He got the crap knocked out of him. It was head and neck. They have a whole protocol on that stuff. You get put in concussion protocol for anything creates a symptom. It’s just not something that you mess with. Like I told you the other day he wanted to come back and play the second half. You just don’t know. They did not feel comfortable especially with the pain he was having in his neck. He really responded well after the game."
