Swinney on possibility of taking an NFL job one day |
Clemson coach
Dabo Swinney, appearing on ESPN’s NFL Live Monday morning discussed several topics including if he would take an NFL job in the future.
Swinney didn't rule out the possibility but likes coaching at the collegiate level. "To be honest with you I never really thought that much about it," Swinney said. "Nobody has really ever called me and said ' hey you want to come coach this NFL team.' But you know I have never really put much thought into it. I have always been so focused on what I am doing. I guess you never say never, but I love what I do. I like recruiting. I like teaching. I like mentoring. I like the challenge of college football. Who knows? I still got a long time to go hopefully and a lot of football in front of me. We’ll see." This reminds me of one of Swinney's favorite sayings 'Learn to bloom where you are planted' in regards to the possibility of him working in the NFL one day. He is currently a standout National Championship coach at the top of his profession. The 'grass is not always greener' coaching-wise like pre-Alabama Nick Saban knows (15-17 record with the Dolphins in 2 seasons). #ClemsonFamily on NFL Live pic.twitter.com/xWBRqMyPEf
