Skip Bayless blames Watson for getting harassed at Alabama bar |
On Friday evening, a video surfaced of former Clemson quarterback
Deshaun Watson leaving peacefully at the Innisfree bar which is located just over a mile from Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL.
The website SB Nation reported that the Innisfree manager told them, “He was not kicked out, but we don't have any other comment.” The original poster of the video later said that Watson was told by all the Alabama fans in the bar that he was not welcome there. Later in the night, another video appeared that showed former Tide linebacker Ryan Anderson and former Tide star Wallace Gilberry confronting Watson and telling him to go. Anderson was one of the players most upset following Alabama's 35-31 loss to Clemson in Tampa, refusing to talk to reporters in the locker room. Watson got up and left peacefully without escalating the situation showing maturity beyond his age. Fox Sports One personality Skip Bayless took to Twitter on Saturday to discuss the situation and wound up blaming Deshaun Watson on the actions of Anderson, Gilberry, and Alabama fans who are obviously still upset with Clemson defeating Alabama 35-31 in the National Championship. Watson threw for 420 yards against Alabama. "I've said I would take Deshaun Watson high in the draft, but if it's true he went to a Tuscaloosa bar, that's a bad sign," Bayless posted. "Why risk that now?" I've said I would take Deshaun Watson high in the draft, but if it's true he went to a Tuscaloosa bar, that's a bad sign. Why risk that now?
