Clemson makes top-15 in final 2017-18 ranking

by - Staff Writer -

A Sweet 16 run in the NCAA Tournament ensured Clemson basketball’s best final top 25 ranking since the 1996-97 season.

Brad Brownell’s Tigers (25-10) were ranked No. 15 by the Coaches Poll on Tuesday, which is the first final top-25 rank since 2008-09 (AP: 24) and the best final ranking since a No. 8 finish after the program’s last Sweet 16 run in 1997.

This sports season marked the first since 1989-90 that Clemson football and basketball both finished in the top-20 of the polls.

The No. 7 strength of schedule was the program’s best final ranking since 2003-04 (6).

A No. 11 final RPI ranking matched Clemson’s best finish since the 1996-97 season.

The Tigers were ranked in each of the final 11 weekly top 25s of the season.
