ESPN analyst: "Hunter Renfrow won't wreck this game" |
College Football analysts Tim Tebow and Marcus Spears previewed the upcoming 2018 Sugar Bowl featuring No. 1 Clemson and No. 4 Alabama.
Spears believes that the stout Alabama defense has a chance to shut down Clemson's offense and especially slot receiver Hunter Renfrow. "I think Alabama has less stress on them going into this game as they had last year," he said. "Then you had Mike Williams can win one-on-ones, Leggett, Renfrow. I mean Renfrow's success came from the fact that you had to double Mike (Williams) and all of those guys. There's one thing that I can guarantee you. Hunter Renfrow won't wreck this game." During media interviews on Friday, Renfrow said: "they (Clemson offense) are like a Tiger ready to pounce on their prey." Alabama head coach Nick Saban had the following to say about Renfrow during Saturday morning's media press conference. "Well, Hunter Renfrow is a pain in the you-know-what in terms of nothing different from last year to this year, Saban said. "The guy is very quick, very instinctive as a player, knows how to get open, makes the right decisions, really kind of a go-to guy for them on third down, especially in the third and 4 to 6, 7 range. So very, very crafty, very quick, but very smart in terms of how he plays." In 2017, Renfrow has 55 catches for 571 yards and three touchdowns. However, he has an impressive four touchdowns against Alabama in National Championship games.
