Justyn Ross was charged Tuesday morning with domestic battery with no prior and one count of criminal damage totaling less than $1,000, according to the Kansas City Star, which added that both charges are misdemeanors. The KC Star did not identify the alleged victim but said it is someone whom Ross "is or has been in a dating relationship." The property damage is to a laptop, iPhone, computer monitor, gold bracelet and car key, the offense report stated, per the KC Star.

Original story

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross was arrested in Kansas on Monday afternoon, according to the Johnson County sheriff's office.

The arrest booking came in a suburb of Kansas City, in Shawnee, Kansas, and was initially listed for a criminal damage of more than $25,000, but it was updated later Monday to be over $1,000 but less than $25,000. Details have not been released as of yet.

The Chiefs were aware of the arrest but did not comment as of Monday evening, per ESPN.

Ross made a comeback from a congenital fusion in his spine and neck at Clemson and made the Chiefs roster last year after signing as an undrafted free agent. He had to sit out last year on the injured reserve after surgery on his foot.

He did not register a catch or target against the Chargers on Sunday in a 31-17 win, but he was called for a pass interference flag.

Ross has three catches for 34 yards this season.
