WLOS ( ABC) Direct TV
Sep 27, 2019, 1:28 PM

It is my understanding that if The Upstate SC Affiliate of ABC did not reach a deal with Direct Tv by midnight last night the channel would be odd the air for Direct TV Subscribers.
Haven’t been home today to check. Is ABC working for Direct TV subscribers in the Upstate? TIA

The article I read earlier today said that the current extension is set to expire at 5:00 PM today.

Ditto in Seneca at 2:00
Haven't seen any crawlers on the screen about it, either.

Screw cable and satellite. Got YouTube TV last year and haven’t looked back. Cutting ties with them was dumping a fat, nagging wife for a mute miss America.

At some point in time, they too will be in a dispute with someone. It is the way it works now. These disputes are all out in the public now asking the customers to fight for one side or the other.

I heard the cutoff was 4:00 today. I pay a pretty premium to DTV to have flawless on a number of indoor and outdoor TVs during CFB season. They’ll have some explaining to do if ABC doesn’t work tomorrow. That is all.

The Asheville ABC station is awful, it’s not available on Hulu Live either so I just it on the ESPN app on Apple TV.

The CBS station (Spartanburg) was off the air for 2 months on U-Verse, (Seems to happen a lot with at&t owned providers) I called and demanded a $50 credit on my bill because that,s what streaming You Tube TV cost. They gave it up without argument.

It's not the actual stations who are at fault

It's the broadcast groups/owners of the stations. Unfortunately, the local stations are caught in the crosshairs.

These TV stations have been out of hand...200 bucks a month, and can't even count on having all the local channels. I miss the good old days when over the air was all we had, which gave us 3-5 channels and something good was always on TV. Now, you have 200 channels, 170 of which are useless, and the 1 you want to watch is working on a new contract. It is ridiculous that TV is higher than the electricity bill.

Still on here in Clemson. I do not see an update to Sinclair broadcasting Twitter page since yesterday. I'm assuming that if they didn't get a deal, that it will be a midnight cutoff. We added YouTube tv for the free trial for tomorrow as a backup. It seems to be a quality picture so far?? This is becoming a challenge to watch our Tigers play!!

No one knows how long the deal is for, they will probably cut it today at 3;30.
AT&T & Sinclair Agree to An Extension to Keep Local ABC, CBS, FOX, & NBC Stations on DIRECTV, AT&T TV NOW, U-verse TV, & More by Luke Bouma on September 27, 2019 in All News, AT&T, DIRECTV NOW, WarnerMedia, News Today was the deadline for AT&T and Sinclair to strike a new deal or see Sinclair owned locals and nationals would go dark. Now the 5 PM Eastern deadline has come and gone with AT&T keeping Sinclair owned locals.
AT&T has confirmed to Cord Cutters News that the stations remain up as talks continue. There is no long term deal but for now, AT&T will keep Sinclair owned locals The Tennis Channel, Stadium, Comet, and more on DIRECTV, AT&T TV NOW, U-verse TV, & more. This is good news for sports fans who ran the risk of losing their locals just as a busy week of college and NFL football was about to get started.
For now, there is no word on how long this deal is good for. It could be for a few hours like the extensions with Disney or a week like the last extension Sinclair and AT&T reached.
This is breaking news. We will post more as we learn more about the deal that kept Sinclair owned locals and national channels on AT&T.
