You can yell, scream and play the blame game all you want, but this was our 10th straight Regional loss. After last night, today was going to be a huge task and we ran into some very good Charlotte pitching. Kids can look at records just like we can and I have no doubt that Coach Bakich will be working long and hard to find a way to somehow flush the memories of all those years and stop the streak next year. We have the talent, facilities and just need make it happen and the sky is the limit and Coach Bakich can get it done. We made a great run this year and we should be proud of that.

Don’t change anything. Keep recruiting. Get better. We ran out of gas. This team offensively was carried by 5 players all year. Those 5 should all come back next season. We need to find a 6 and 7 that can help the offense. And add one or 2 pitchers.

We change nothing, just keep recruiting the best we can. We have the right coach and the right staff. This was year one. We won the ACC & had a tough loss last night being 1 strike away from being 2-0 in the regionals. Losing Cam today was a horrible call. That umpire should be ashamed of himself letting trash talk affect who wins and who loses is beyond dumb. Tough break but this team could have called it quits in April but they didn’t. Hell of a season and we have a GREAT coach.

I've never really been a baseball fan. I have watched more baseball this year than probably my entire life combined. If they can capture the attention of someone like me then they must be doing something right. It is disappointing considering we had UT down to the last strike but for the first time ever I am looking forward to watching more baseball next season.

I'd start with heavy emphasis on recruiting, first.
Did a lot better than I expected this year, and very well for a first year program, that, (from a talent standpoint) was left for dead until Bakich brought in the best he could get his hands on.
I do believe with another year under the program, well see even better results.

I believe Grice comes back another year. As much improved as he was, he still has minor Deficiencies hitting. I read he is favored as a pitcher in the big league. I think one more year pitching could help him also. Obviously not my choice but I think he is a smart kid.

We do NOT have the talent. This team really overachieved.

Just look at Charlotte, who was the Number THREE seed in our regional. They as a team had 30+ more home runs than we did. Lipscomb had nine more than Charlotte, and Tennessee had eight more than Lipscomb.
Now, not saying we need to swing for the fences all the time, but pitchers can certainly pitch your team differently when they know certain hitters in your lineup are not going to leave the yard.
And, pitching wise, we have nothing even approaching an ace. We have not one really "dominant" arm on our staff. Which would be fine, Greg Maddux made one of the best MLB careers in history with a 89-91 mph fastball. Butt, unlike ANY of our pitchers, he had complete command of the strike zone. Our guys are just as likely to walk somebody on four pitches when they come into a game as they are to get a strikeout or a ground ball.
Of the two things, pitching is for sure the most pressing need. Great pitching will mask a lot of hitting ills, the Atlanta Braves won 14 division titles with that formula.
Butt, for now, it is what it was. Congratulations, Tigers on an overachieving season, and come back stronger next year.

Pitcher style is the answer. We get beat by guys that throw 95+ with an mlb slider. We are 90-92 at best. Got to spend some NIL and go different type of pitchers. That's what I would do. Our pitchers seem to all be the same type. More pitching diversity needed on tbe staff.

Like others have said the only change is really increasing depth. Using Olenchuk as a pinch hitter/ DH points to our lack of depth. No offense to the young man, but we should not be forced into using young men getting their first look at live action in this situation. I understand that we were without Cam but it shouldn't have that much effect.
