So the coot coaching staff is trying to tell our recruits
Jan 31, 2017, 8:38 AM

that the "only reason" Clemson won a natty and has run off 3 straight is "because Deshaun Watson".
Maybe it's just me, but I'm thinking the 10 other guys on the field with DW had something to do with that.
Silly coots, they just never learn.

What does Muschamp getting fired at Florida have to do with this conversation? Bobby Bowden was fired so I guess he couldn't coach a lick.

Bobby Bowden, like him or not, built FSU Football. His mistake was bringing in the wrong son. should have brought in Terry as OC instead of Jeff.
And oh yes, Chump was turned down for the Clemson job and Dabo hired instead. Just the facts here,no Coot Fantasies.

win streak against us and what did that produce for you? Zero championships followed by a 3-9 and 6-7 seasons the last 2 years in the worst power 5 division in college football. We came out of that with conference championships and a national championship. Oh and we're currently on a 3-game win streak against you worm pullers.

So that's your programs biggest accomplishment, being 5-4 vs Dabo.?? Better enjoy it because it's going to be evened up in NOV. Heck the Coots don't have a chance for at least 4 more years to beat CLEMSON. What will it be then 5-8?? I'm calling it now the Tigers will at least win 7 in a row. By then SC will have fired Boom and be even lower than y'all are now . The Coots might not beat CLEMSON for another 10 years.

You had a HOF coach and little streak and a single division championship is all you have to show for his tenure. How does it feel that Dabo has accomplished more in one season than your school has in 120 years?

No doubt you guys should be very happy. But I will always love my school regardless of the wins and losses. USC has done very well in sports since they joined the SEC. I love football but I agree it has struggled, but the rest of the sports excite me as well and back to back in baseball was exciting. Now our basketball teams are coming on strong so who knows when we just might get another championship.

I don't know if you were serious, but deferring has always been my choice in football. A lot of coaches defer to the 2nd half, but hello, you can't specifically choose to play defense first unless you choose to kick-off. Who does that?
Saban, at one point in his career (when touchbacks came out to the 20) said it best: "We defer to play defense first". The thought pattern was that playing good defense can result in a 3-and-out, the opponent punting deep in their territory, getting good field position in return, and momentum gained.
But since touchbacks moved out, he more recently said: "I don't necessarily buy that (deferring), but a lot of people like to play defense first... but I would really rather play offense first."
So according to your logic, Saban is saying he can literally choose to play offense? Really?
Obviously choosing to play offense or defense are not literal options, but what you do after winning the toss dictates which side of the ball you're going to play first.
Thought everyone knew that?

YOu ran 3 plays (and a punt) in Clemson territory on your last drive in the 1st half. (got in Clemson territory on a PI)
1st drive of the 2nd half resulted in 2 plays (and a penalty) plus a TD.
1st drive of the 4th qtr had 4 plays in Clem territory and a turnover on downs. (This was mostly against the 3rd team D where you had almost a third of your total yards, a fifth of your total TOP and a quarter of your total plays)

I would agree with your statement but you never know in sports. Things can change from year to year but as long as you guys have Dabo you can win it all again that 5 year period. Not sure why you guys are attacking me about the coaches because I think Dabo is one of the best. All I was saying was tell the facts what Muschamp is saying to recruits.

If it bothers you that your coaches are pumping sunshine with nutty stories about what will happen to our program when DW leaves, that's your problem.
And btw, it's pretty well-known on the recruiting trail that this is what coot coaches are trying to sell...so this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
