Over signs and running kids off.

If i was a parent of a 4 star little Jimmy, and he was getting recruited by some of the bigger schools, I believe I would do my homework. Looking into a 5 year history and seeing for instance: How many signed LOI's for class 5 years ago? How many left early, and not because of NFL draft, and why? How many earned their degree? How many were run off for the next "Hot Prospect"? To little Jimmy, this is pointless most of the time. He just wants his hat ceremony and to be on espn. Get asked to move on? It cant happen to him! Hopefully mom and Dad, or who ever start to get smarter about all this oversigning and realize your kid is one knee injury, or whatever the reason away from NOT being at Alabama, Jawga, or wherever.

And that doesn't count those who've left the program for various reasons (Chad Kelly, Destefano, Kitt, etc) or guys who counted twice like Shaq Lawson since he went to prep school. This would decrease our numbers, meaning we should sign MORE than 25 a year, but hey, whatever floats your boat

If this is the price we pay for our kids wanting to stay..

because of being with a TOP TEN PROGRAM, a team that competes for and wins NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, that has a family atmosphere that makes even the bench warmers want to stay, that doesn't rent kids for a year like Kentucky basketball, pay kids like Mississippi, hide crimes like Baylor, run kids off like Bama, or cheat them out of an education by giving them non-classes like UNC, and is willing to let them transfer to a potential opponent like Miami without hindrance. If small classes are the price of excellence and a team that considers itself a family, I'll take it any day.
