Miami isn’t a given

I think Clemson will be favored by 14 or so, but Miami will not be a cakewalk!

the week before we played them in the acccg. Lost the last game of the year to Pitt on the same day #1 Alabama lost Auburn. We were going into Williams Brice technically #3 but the de facto #1..... Anyway, that Miami team blew out a top 5 Notre Dame a few weeks earlier but you could tell by looking at them, just like this years team, that they had no discipline at all. All they wanted to do was dance in front the camera with the turnover chain. Once Clemson gets a lead on them, Miami will start jawing and drawing personal fouls penalties and end up letting the game get away from then.
45-10 CU
At least it’ll give us a quality win

You do know that FSU lost to GT. Which hasn’t won another game and lost really bad to UCF and Syracuse?

King is the best QB they've had in a long time, and the Canes always have good skill players.
I wonder how good their OL is now. I expect our D Line to test them. Who knows how good UM's defense is yet.
We may give up some big pass plays. That game will be a good test for the Tigers.

You nailed it.
I'll just add Miami's defense doesn't impress me and neither does their O-line. My primary concern is King's passing and scrambling.
I expect our offense to score a lot and they won't be able to keep up. It could be close but probably not.

Deshaun Watson was the best player overall for the entire season and he was robbed of the Heisman trophy.

I agree. Anyone can be beaten. Just refer to Syracuse or Pitt. That being said, our coaches do a terrific job in game focus and game preparation. Miami is improved, but I think we will still own them.

They are off this week. Do you think they have the self discipline to isolate all week?

I agree but our secondary is still very immature.
I would have liked to get them some more reps against a good passing team.
King & Co. will probably perform 10-14 points better on Oct 10 than they would in the ACCCG against us. That said, bring on the Wahoos as a warmup!

ACC opponents have looked much stronger - Tigers are going to have to fight their way through a tougher schedule. No more cupcakes. ND, Miami, Pitt, VTech - all will be top 20. (Back 7 better get ready.)

I agree with this, but also with the assessment above that Miami has not faced any adversity yet. No one has punched them in the mouth and dared them to do something about it, and typically, that is their downfall. Clemson, ND, UNC and us are teams that will do that.
While I was impressed that VT was able to play turnover free and low mistake football given they were playing with 3/4 of a team and coaching staff, the same could be said about them, IMO. I think had you guys wanted the Wake game could have been 70+ to nothing, and Wake hung 42 on NC State last week. I have no clue yet about VT other than we have a strong quarterback room down through third string, our o-line looks legit, and our running game is much improved because of it. I just don't know how much yet.
That being said, daggone, it was nice to finally get to watch a game with a real rooting interest.
