Is it funny to anyone else that UNC keeps coming up

...as being ready to leave the ACC?
I feel like they're the most responsible out of anyone else in the conference for driving it into the ground. They controlled things for so long with Swoffy at the helm, and now they're tired of it?
Get bent. I hope then end up in the NAIA.

you're misreading things rather severely...unless you can show me something that says UNC wants to or is ready
readily accepted or most desirable by another conference is not the same as ready to leave

UNC voted with FSU & Clemson against adding the new members. Many think it was a sign they are ready to bolt. The scuttlebutt is the UNC brand is highly desirable to the P2.
Not sure any of that is true but I believe it is true.

Swofford was UNC AD when Clemson was put on extra year of probation. Talk about shooting your own conference in the foot! Then he get to become ACC commishioner? You need only to look at who showed up in support (and actually went into the meetings!) when North Carolina went before the NCAA Infractions committee to get them off for THE WORST ACADEMIC SCANDAL IN NCAA HISTORY! Yes, none other than John Swofford. Which by the way, he was still UNC AD when the fake classes started.

Swofford led he charge for Clemson to get the extra year of probation. It came down to a 5-2 vote. That's right 5-2 even though there were 8 teams in the ACC at the time. The 2 out of that 5 declined to vote because Clemson was not allowed to be there to defend themselves. Swofford has since claimed he had nothing to do with it. But that doesn't change the fact that he was one of the 5 yes votes for the extra year. So he had some nerve to show up to this hearing with a big fat grin on his face....

He has never done us any favors. Always wondered what he was thinking as he handed some of those ACC championship trophies to Dabo.

Why he gave Clemson an infraction for practicing in pads until pictures were shown with all the other ACC teams practicing in pads? Then ask him why they took the ACC Baseball championship away from Greenville because it was “an unfair advantage for Clemson making it like a home game” only to move it to Durham, NC? Then ask him how having the Men’s basketball is not also an advantage to anyone in say Greensboro where UNC plays a few regular season games every year just for kicks?

not sure how that was responsive to my pointing out facts to dispel a myth...
but hey if it makes you feel better, go for it
fun fact... UNC has a better record in the ACC tournament outside of NC

I'm very aware that Swofford was the UNC AD when the ACC added an extra year

of probation. You must not be aware that it has been stated multiple times since then that he had nothing to do with that, and in fact did not vote for the extra year of probation.
I am also aware that Swofford later became the ACC commissioner. While I certainly don't think he was perfect, he was responsible for what I consider some great moves to add new ACC members. While some of these additions can certainly be questioned now, at the time many of the additions were very significant for the conference - especially for football. Miami and Virginia Tech were football powerhouses when they were added, and Boston College was a strong top 25 program then as well.
I find the UNC academic scandal repulsive, and I think they should've received a far worse penalty for it.
The bottom line though is that none of these things have anything to do with UNC somehow getting us where we are today as a conference. You just want to blame a school you don't like for the problems we are facing, which is really silly. I can't stand UNC, but blaming them for the ACC being in this situation is crazy. If you are going to blame schools, blame all 15 (including Clemson) for signing a stupid grand of rights deal in the name of "conference unity."

People have short memories. They voted with Clemson and FSU to block Cal/Stanford/SMU from joining the ACC. Seems pretty clear to me that the circumstances have put them (perhaps grudgingly) in our camp.

I have seen more than one post on the NC boreds that Clemson and UNC will be partners to the SEC and that FSU and Miami will go to the Big 10. The irony if Clemson delivered the real Carolina (UNC) to the SEC. Coots would love that!
