If DW is healed, he should START tomorrow.

If he is 100% healed, he should get the starting job back. He would have started vs. Wake if he had not been injured, right? Then he should start now. He should be getting FIRST team reps in practice.
This stuff about not getting him reinjured because it is only Wake, etc. is BS. The starting QB starts every game. I say if he is healed, put him in!!!

I agree with OP, if he's been given the thumbs up

from the medical staff, he should start. Wake would be a good warmup game before playing against the bees in the ATL.

Good thinking - hence I don't thing he is healed

One hundred percent. Because if he is healed, it is better to start him now against wake vs gt especially after a month off throwing a nerf ball.
So assuming another week will do him good to heal, Dabo is dressing him up as tactical more than anythjng else to get wake to prepare for two QBs.

He's gotta win his job back from Cole.

Cole has been looking really good these last few practices. Just like at the beginning of the season, Deshaun has to prove he's ready to be the starter.

If he was completely healthy he would be starting. Does that answer your question?

Maybe it is not a binary system - 1 injury to 0 injury

Instead it is continuum where a player can maybe "play" but maybe has some stiffness or soreness

Seems to me, he's healed enough at this point to

come in if needed, but not necessarily healed completely. By the time the GT game rolls around, he'll be that much closer to completely healed. So, if we're winning comfortably, I doubt he sees the field 'til Atlanta.

If he would be "pushing it", I would agree.

My post states that if he is healed, he should start. "Pushing it" implies he is not healed. What I have read is that he is throwing without pain. If there is some danger in playing him (according to the doctors) then of course he should not play. But if he is ready, he is our clear starting QB, so he should start!

If he's healed and there's no risk of further injury, why

would you not play him? If he's not healed why would he be cleared to play if needed?
What happened to the "every week we're playing a nameless, faceless opponent?" If we were playing against FSU or South Carolina this week, I have no doubts Watson would play and start. He's our best QB by a mile, and the offense pretty much sucks with Stoudt at the helm. I doubt we break 20 if Watson doesn't play. Will that be enough to win? Probably, but it's going to be seen as another bad performance by the voters and we're going to look bad on national TV to recruits.
