Hate to see Braves not resign Freddie

next year, but Matt Olson is a top 3 first baseman.
At least they signed a really good player. He’s actually hit more HR’s the last 5 years than Freddie. And, in a weird twist, he was born in Atlanta and went to Parkview HS in Gwinnett so we're getting a hometown player...if that means anything.
Losing Freddie is big, no doubt. But, there are tons of leaders on this team. We'll have a loaded line up once again.
Now, the money we could have spent, can go towards acquiring some arms and bolstering the bullpen.

He's back when the Braves want to play him.

Was retroactively given a 20 game suspension.
He's apologized to his teammates and the fans. Just as importantly, teammates said they wanted him back so he'll bring a much needed bat to the lineup. Probably at DH.

They offered him a great contract, so at least they tried.

That isn't a bad line-up at all...

No need to fear

I’ve played a few season on MLB The Show 2021 and my created player was a first baseman. I beat out Freddie pretty easily for the starting job and we ended up winning 2 straight WS titles after trading him.

It's not just FF. They may haved saved some money but they gave up some prized farm guys. Langeliers was reportedly their #2 prospect. The others were all ranked inside the top 15 prospects for ATL. Heavy, heavy price.

It’s not just freeman. They lost Shea Langaleirs the number 1 catching prospect and future franchise player. All because of one year. So stupid. Now they will over pay to keep Soler and Joc and they both will underperform.
