If CU maintains this trend of recruiting Nationally......

Look out.....
If top players from around the nation like what we offer the sky is the limit....
In a way, we are becoming the "Oregon" of the East Coast....

Why are we offering another rb?
Feb 20, 2013, 6:41 PM

We have 2 coming in this season and another 2 who are committed to us right now. If Jayron and Cook stay committed then that means we will have 6 rb's on scholarship in 2014 (Howard, Brooks, Gallman, Dye, Cook, and Jayron) . Thats def enough imo.

Well I' glad you're not the coach. If the coaches think we need more then let them get more. They could red shirt one or two so they can recruit more linemen in future classes. It's not up to me to say what the needs are. If I knew that then I would be in the loop and coaching. Go Tigers.

1. It's Jae'lon, not Jayron. 2. Even with 6, that really isn't too many. In 2014 Howard will be a senior, Brooks a junior. Either Gallman or Dye will be a soph as one will probably play this year. Accounting for injury, attrition, position changes, and the fact we play 3, we need a good stable of backs. Six on scholarship, we can redshirt 2, we will be fine. 3. We don't know what the 2015 plan is. Maybe the backs in the following recruiting class don't look as promising, so we load up when the crop is talented and don't take any the next year.

To the best of my knowledge, Zac Brooks is still at his HS playing weight of 180. At 6'2", I really don't see him as any kind of factor at RB, unless he can get in the weight and re-invent himself----and I just don't see that happening, based on what he's done so far. Given all that can happen, I really don't see us that deep in top-notch running backs.

but when I watched the highlights, his running style reminded me of Gale Sayers. I checked back with some Sayers YouTube highlights and have not changed my mind.
If you have never seen Sayers run, watch the highlights. What a player and outstanding person.

This kid is a two position player, so it won't matter about recruiting him as a RB. He may end up at OLB. Him being a both sides of the ball player is a plus the way I'm looking at it. A win win situation type of player!!!
