reasons why. He seemed to me to be a great blocker, and he had pretty good hands. Maybe his speed is an issue? I haven't really looked at film on him in ages, so I don't know.

I read a NE article a little while ago stating how Ford could be the player to watch at the position with his ability to catch and block. Oh well their lose. I can go back to hating them again at least.

That was one of the reasons he moved

He had the frame to put on more weight and his speed was decent but not great for a WR, especially with what we had coming in, but it was good for a TE hence the move. I'm not saying it was his speed that kept him from playing at NE but off the top of my head it could have been an issue.

Screw NE!!! I hate them and their chit eating coach. I doubt he will find a team this late in the game. Maybe he could find him a Great retired NFL TE coach that will help him, and get him to where he needs to be to make it. I hope he doesn't give up.

Disappointing news, but can't say I'm that surprised. From what I've been reading, he's been hobbled for a good portion of camp. They've been talking about this Zach Sudfield kid like he's the next coming of Gronk...probably didn't help BF's cause. Hopefully he'll catch on with someone else soon or maybe the Pat's practice squad until fully healthy.

Darn...I finally had a Clemson Tiger to root for on the Pats and then he gets cut before the season! Oh well, I hope he'll find a place somewhere else. He's a very good talent.

He tore his hamstring

He was in danger of not making the roster even without injury, but this made it an easy decision. I have heard he is hoping they will pick him back up when he is healthy, but that may be a couple of months from now.

The Patriots lost Hernandez and Gronk to jail and injuries. That should have opened things up for Ford. Who is his competition that's beating him out?
I thought he would have made an excellent off the line TE. His blocking skills are no where near NFL caliber, but his speed, route running, and hands would have made him excellent pass catching TE.
