Did It Really Help?? ---

It's going to be interesting to see if the Georgia coaches actually made Derion Kendrick better. Is he still the same? Is he worse than he was?
Wouldn't surprise me if DJ is told to go right at him on the first pass play.

player. Him leaving had nothing to do with talent.
I would guess he is pretty focused right now at the start of the season. He'll revert at some point though.

I have been watching Clemson games from last year and Deiron Kendrick was getting torched in every game. He did not want to tackle on run plays and was the weak link in the secondary last year.

And in the semi-final...

he allowed an easy interception/knockdown to go right through his hands in the endzone, giviong the bucknuts a TD they never should have had. It was almost like he was screwing up and screwing the team over on purpose, it was so bad. His payback to Dabo for all that time in the loveshack, perhaps? We'll never know. But IMO we're better off without him at this point. He seems to prefer smoking weed and hoisting a roscoe to toeing the Tiger line anyway.

I hate to say it; "these are my exact same thoughts"! I wish they were not and I wish DK nothing but the best except for the game against Clemson!

I think Kendrick is really good. He had some poor moments. We could have used him though. If he wouldn't have blown it some projected him in the 1st round. Maybe if the rest of the D around would have stepped up it could have helped too. We all saw how exposed our D was vs Ohio State.

football culture or coaching that would help Kendrick get better than he was here. On or off the field. Butt, that's just me.

First, I agree that his run support was pretty bad at times, and I doubt that has improved too much if at all. He's not interested in the physical nature of run support.
As to coverage, a major factor in answering that question will be how well he performs in man-to-man. Clemson likes to run a lot of cover-3 and cover-4, and most of the blown assignments that I saw from Kendrick last year were due to him getting caught out of position with respect to his zone responsibilities. UGA on the other hand, loves to ask their corners to go man-to-man. If Kendrick has the requisite athletic ability to play on an island, then we should see less busts due to the simplified nature of his responsibilities.
