This movie about some kid playing games with a university
Sep 23, 2015, 4:10 PM
|

about committing to them or not. Then, this quarterback for that university gets kicked off the team and ends up 2 years later on the team that the kid that was playing games is on now. Then the team that the guy was playing games with and that the other guy was the former quarterback for and the team that they are on now play each other in the NC. The team that got played games with and kicked the qb off of destroys the team that they play for now.
That movie is the best.

Oh yeah, that movie was "Brian's Song" in 1971, about the relationship between Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo as RB's with the Chicago Bears, and how they overcame racial issues in pro sports at the time to become best friends. Piccolo came out of Wake Forest, btw. A terrific movie, if not exactly a college football movie, but it goes there. Theme was a beautiful top ten hit at the time, if I remember correctly. Highly recommended.

"Radio" is a great football movie - a high school football movie, not college or pro. "...based on the true story of T. L. Hanna High School football coach Harold Jones (Ed Harris) and a mentally challenged young man, James Robert "Radio" Kennedy (Cuba Gooding, Jr.)." A 2003 film and just terrific. A story right in our own back yard. Check it out.

Not a movie yet ,but will be if Texas Politics ever approves it : Meat on the Hoof, a searing true story of U of Tex.Football under Darryl Royal in the 70's. Brutally honest, the man was a sadist and enjoyed tormenting his players. Probably would be too controversial today. A must read.
