National interest for Clemson now would have taken HC Howard

(as in Coach Frank Howard; the "Baron of Barlow Bend Alabama") 25 years to equal in approximate total or equal accumulation of coverage Clemson has received so far this year alone, what with two ESPN on-campus GameDays..UGa win at 8PM in DV on ABC with Blimp & ALL..#3 ranking (what was his highest? Maybe Top 10 somewhere?)..FSU Game on National Prime Time, possible journey to NC, etc....IMO.

Saying..as great a spokesman as Coach Howard was for lowly little ole backwoods Clemson College..from His personally helping take IPTAY off the ground from first meeting in Atlanta with Dr. Fike and riding the back roads of SC in 1934 onward during the Depression and hard-selling the idea of fund raising to poor farmers & business people..to doing some crazy promotional ideas over the many years..to getting a #10 ranked Tiger Team in the 1958 Sugar Bowl against #1 LSU & Infamous Chinese Bandit Squad (losing only 7-0 with trick HB play from Billy Cannon)..to winning some big bowls against some Big Boy Teams..to having to put up with Coots in Cola for umpteen long years and beating them at their game until the cowards (as in legislators came around)..to acting country dumb when he made straight A's in English at Bama..to telling the SC Highway Patrol to make life tough in 1960 for the Gamecoot faithful big wigs so they'd finally raise some money for a nice 4-lane road from Greenville to Clemson..

Frank wouldn't believe what Dabo & Team are doing publicity-wise for Dear Ole Clemson "University" today..in just one season! But, I bet he's grinning from up on the graveyard where he "can hear my boys play ball" and saying..

Go TiGERs...and, Go Buddy (as in Dabo, another Bama Boy)!

We certainly are getting a lot of good publicity and rightfully so. I just hope we aren't being hoo dood by all this hype. FSU has a #### good team and it has me concerned even with it being at the valley. Im a pessimist and will not feel better about it until we beat both fsu can the coots but that's just me.
