and we won in Columbia against SCar and then won the ACC Championship with a dang backup (I know it was 3rd string) then doesn’t that actually make your wins even more impressive.
The team overcame all that adversity and still won!

Yes, but look at how FSU won mostly with defense in the ACC Championship. The CFP committee has had some real uncompetitive matchups with just four teams. UM and UW are very good and competitive game worthy. UA and UGA we just saw it. If Texas and Alabama get into CFP it's not unfair as both won conference championships. I doubt backup QB's will perform well in CFP, especially if it's the third string guy. Clemson would have trouble too. These matchups are a beauty contest. The CFP committee hopes the team stats will follow thru CFP. Current history says not always like TCU's blowout of UM last year and UGA's demolition of TCU.
