Nation's No. 2 corner has two words for Tiger fans: "Tiger Nation" |
MacKensie Alexander
MacKensie Alexander “Tiger Nation.” TigerNet spoke with the 5-star defensive back out of Immokalee (FL) Monday evening about his recruitment, and although he wasn’t willing to name a leader outright, Alexander said that the entire country knows that Clemson is his favorite. “I’m not really sure about naming any leaders right now,” Alexander said. “Everybody in the nation knows that Clemson is my favorite and that’s all I’m going to say. Tiger Nation is all I’ve got to say.” Alexander watched the Clemson defense in person when they played at Florida State two weeks ago, and he said that the Tigers simply need explosive players on the defense to match the intensity of the offense. “I was at the Clemson and Florida State game two weeks ago, and I watched the defense the entire game,” Alexander said. “I didn’t just watch the defensive backs; I watched the entire defense. The offense has so many explosive players that I just think the defense needs some guys like the offense has. They just need those ballers that can make the defense better. The defense just got worn down a little bit, and they just had a few plays that they let beat them at the end of the game.” Alexander said he speaks with the Clemson coaches on a regular basis, and the coaches are always reminding him of the Tigers’ immediate need in the secondary. Alexander and the college football world saw the type of impact that wide receiver Sammy Watkins had as a freshman, and he said that Clemson fans can expect the same if he commits to the Tigers “I can bring an electrifying presence to Clemson and bring a lot of talent,” Alexander said. “Everybody saw what Sammy did his freshman year and I think I can bring that to the defense and have the same impact. “ When asked what he does best, Alexander said that he simply plays physical and isn’t afraid to deliver the big hit. “I can do a lot of things well, but I can cover anyone and I will deliver the big blow,” Alexander said. “I can just bring physicality to the defense.”
