Report: Former Clemson DB to sign with Panthers

by - Assoc. Editor -

It looks like the Carolina Panthers are getting some much needed defensive back help.

The Panthers are expected to sign cornerback Bashaud Breeland to their team according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The news will become official on Wednesday as Breeland will be projected into the Panthers' starting cornerback slot opposite youngster James Bradberry.

In 2017, Breeland had 50 tackles and a 96-yard interception for a touchdown.

He had 271 tackles, seven forced fumbles, and eight interceptions during his four years with the Washington Redskins.

The Redskins drafted him in the fourth round of Clemson in 2014.

Update: Breeland failed his physical with the team and will not be joining the Panthers according to multiple reports.
