Report: Former Clemson DB to sign with Chiefs

by - Assoc. Editor -

The Chiefs just upgraded their secondary.

Former Clemson defensive back Bashaud Breeland has reportedly signed a one-year deal worth around $5 million with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday.

Breeland is projected to be a possible starter for the Chiefs next season. Other moves made to upgrade their defense this offseason include signing safety Tyrann Mathieu, linebacker Damien Wilson, and defensive back Alex Okafor.

For his NFL career, he has 231 tackles, seven forced fumbles, and ten interceptions.

The sixth-year pro was impressive in his seven games he played with the Packers last season with 20 tackles, four pass deflections, two interceptions, and a touchdown after he was added in September.

The Redskins drafted him in the fourth round out of Clemson in 2014.
