Clemson is recruiting three players from Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida this year. DeAndre McDaniel, Emmanuel Francis, and Marcus Udell all are receiving interest from Clemson. McDaniel was the first to receive an offer from Clemson, and the Tigers have not backed off since.
"Clemson is recruiting me the hardest I would say right now. The letters pour in every week. I have been to there campus and felt very comfortable there. Two of my friends are going there this year (TJ Williams and Quentez Ruffin)." Clemson, Georgia, and Florida are among a host of schools that have offered McDaniel. McDaniel can play either safety or wide receiver at the next level, but he reiterated that defense is where he is most comfortable. "Some schools tell me they would give me a shot to play both ways, and I would like to try that. I really see myself settling down on defense. I am able to make plays in the open field, and I love to hit." Is there one school that currently stands out? "I am wide open right now. I feel very good about Clemson, but I would not call them my leader. I want to wait to make a decision, but they have made a very good impression on me early. Coach Swinney is a great recruiter, and I know he really cares about you as a person from talking to TJ. He recruited TJ, and TJ told me you can always call Coach Swinney and he will be there for you to talk to."
