Height: 6-2 Weight: 190 Hometown: Greer, SC (Riverside HS) Class: 2006
Clemson did not sign a quarterback in the class of 2005. There was potential for Clemson to sign two in 2006, but Michael Wade would be the only quarterback Clemson would sign in '06.
Wade played at Riverside High School in Greer, SC. Wade was not blessed with talented skill players around him. He reminds a lot of coaches of Will Proctor coming out of high school. He is a little raw, but very coachable. Clemson evaluated Wade very closely and decided to offer him over Nick Prochak and Chris Smelley. It was a difficult move, but offensive coordinator Rob Spence believed Wade was the better fit. Wade has good mobility, and he will benefit from the teachings of Spence. Wade understands the challenge that lies ahead with three scholarship quarterbacks ahead of him on the depth chart, and Willy Korn on the way in 2007. Freshman Forecast: Redshirt
