4-star 2018 safety Leon O'Neal Jr. from Cypress, TX (Cy Springs HS) announced his top four schools on Thursday morning, and Clemson made the cut for his services.
His top four schools according to his Twitter account were Clemson, Georgia, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. TigerNet spoke with O'Neal after Clemson coach Dabo Swinney had an in-home visit this week. "Coach (Swinney) the truth," O'Neal said. O'Neal is excited about the offer from Clemson. "They have been a priority to get to know more and couldn't be more excited about them," O'Neal said. "Their message is that my leadership on the defensive side of the ball is what they need and how they only build up character up there." He doesn't have a timetable for a decision but plans to visit Clemson soon. In 2016, O'Neal had 114 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. He has national offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Baylor, California, Clemson, Colorado, Georgia, Houston, Iowa State, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, Syracuse, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Toledo, Tulsa, UCLA, USC and Utah.
