Chavis excited about Steelers and its 3-4 defense |
From Fayetteville Observer:
Chavis was hindered for much of senior year at Clemson with foot and ankle injuries. He said he had conversations with "about 15" NFL teams before signing with the Steelers. "I'll finally have a chance to play in a 3-4 defense, which best suits my type of game and my body type," he said. "I'm going to go out there every day with the thought of competing. I can't wait to get started. It's been my dream to play in the NFL. I'm jumping up and down in my cleats right now I'm so excited."
"I signed today and it was amazing," Chavis said in a telephone interview. "Things just came together for me. It was tough because I was injured for a third of my senior season at Clemson. But I wound up having a great pro timing day and now I'm a Pittsburgh Steeler."
