Clemson senior outfielder Drew Wharton was selected in the 30th round (908th pick) of the MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday.

Wharton hit .255 this season with seven home runs and 41 RBIs, tying for second on the team with 12 doubles.

Over 137 career games, Wharton totaled 61 RBIs and hit all of his seven career home runs as a senior.

The Suwanee, Georgia product is a sixth Tiger to be selected in the draft so far, joining Seth Beer (28th, Houston Astros), Ryley Gilliam (140th, New York Mets), Ryan Miller (189th, Arizona Diamondbacks), Chris Williams (244th, Minnesota Twins) and Jake Higginbotham (322nd, Atlanta Braves).
