A longtime Wisconsin quarterback commit announced a Clemson offer on Wednesday.

4-star 2019 QB Graham Mertz has been committed to Wisconsin since last October, but the offers have kept rolling in. In addition to Clemson's interest, he's also added offers from Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Missouri, Ole Miss, Michigan and Ohio State since committing.

Mertz led a state champion Blue Valley North (Ks.) team last season, completing 62 percent of his passes for 3,684 yards with 45 touchdowns to six interceptions. Mertz also impressed at the Army Combine in January and will compete in the Elite 11 finals in early June.

Mertz is rated as high as the No. 2 pocket-passer in the country by ESPN and the No. 1 player in Kansas by multiple sites.

Clemson already carries a commitment from a top-rated 2019 dual-threat quarterback in Taisun Phommanchanh.
