McDaniels makes clutch three to help end 76ers' 17 game winless streak

by - Assoc. Editor -

The Philadelphia 76ers finally have a W (85-77) as they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 85-77.

It was the first win for the 76ers in 18th attempts on the NBA season and they avoided tying the 2009-2010 New Jersey Jets for the worst start (0-18) in NBA history.

The 76ers (1-17) were helped out by former Clemson standout K.J. McDaniels who made a huge three-pointer with 1:59 remaining to put the team up 76-75.

McDaniels finished the game with 12 points (4 for 13 shooting), 9 rebounds, 4 blocks and two assists. The versatile wing-man played 35 minutes in the game which was the second highest only to Michael Carter-Williams' 42 minutes.

The young 76ers were a little lucky on the schedule as the Timberwolves were missing three starters from the lineup including PG Ricky Rubio, SG Kevin Martin and C Nikola Pekovic.
