The Clemson football team
vaulted to the #1 spot in the nation on Monday in CBSSport.com's 128 overall rankings.
"With four touchdowns on its first four possessions, Clemson blew the doors off Sun Life Stadium and cruised to a 58-0 win against Miami that resulted in Al Golden's dismissal and the Tigers' rise to No. 1 in the new CBS Sports 128 rankings," CBSSports.com stated. "Clemson jumps four spots from No. 5, leaping Ohio State, Baylor and LSU, which round out the top four following victories of their own in Week 8." The Top 10 schools in the overall rankings include Clemson, Ohio State, Baylor, LSU, Alabama, Michigan State, Stanford, Iowa, Notre Dame and TCU. Other ACC schools in the Top 25 include Florida State (#17), Duke (#22) and North Carolina (#25). In-state rival South Carolina dropped one spot to a dismal #79 overall ranking. In other national rankings, The Tigers are #8 in ESPN's FPI, #2 in SOR, #1 in F/+, #1 in S&P+ and #2 in the Sagarin rankings.
