“It's all about the little things and that's what it comes down to in games like this," Swinney said. "This is two incredibly talented teams. You go back to last year’s game for us from what we look at and what we evaluate, it came down to some very basic things. But that’s the difference. We had the lead in the fourth quarter, first down on the plus-40 going in and we fumbled the exchange. Basic Basic things. You have to be incredibly sound fundamentally and take care of the little things. Understand every single play is a championship play. You hear it all the time, but three or four plays will make a difference in this ball game. You don't know when it is coming, so you’ve got to prepare your tail off because you don’t know when they’re coming.”

Swinney thinks that his players and coaching staff will not be in awe of the National Championship game considering they are there for the second straight year.

"I think the overall experience of having been there and played on that stage," Swinney said. I think these guys know what it takes. We're glad we have that opportunity. There’s a high likelihood we’re going to get beat, but there’s a pretty good chance we can win too. We try to stay focused on the positive things. Looking forward to having that opportunity to play Monday night with that Clemson brand out there and take on the Tide."
