ESPN's FPI predicts Alabama over Clemson

Clemson (No. 1) will face Alabama (No. 4) in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA on New Year's Day at 8:45 p.m. ET.

ESPN's FPI predicts a 57.9% chance of Alabama winning over Clemson.

Alabama (35%) is the favorite to win the CFP National Championship, followed by Georgia (24%), Clemson (23%) and Oklahoma (18%), according to FPI's formula.

Early projected lines via 5Dimes have Alabama as a 2.5 favorite over No. 1 Clemson.

Clemson and Alabama meeting in the Sugar Bowl will mark just the second time two teams have met in a bowl game in three straight years according to ESPN Stats and Info.
