So my 2.5 year old was at preschool Tuesday

Sep 22, 2011, 2:41 PM

It was grandparents day. He went to the Auburn game this past weekend and we worked on his C-L-E-M-S-OOOOOOOOO-N cheer on the ride up to Death Valley. He has it down perfect! Anyway, Tuesday was grandparents day and he showed off his cheer to one of his two teachers who is a Clemson graduate. He can't even spell his name yet, but he can spell Clemson! Anyway, she took him across the hall to the director's classroom of 5-year-olds. She is a huge Gamecock fan. He did the cheer and 4 other Clemson fans in that class joined in.

Taking it to the enemy in the heart of Gamecock country. I'm so proud.

I am with you brother. My 3 year old girl wore her Clemson cheerleading outfit to preschool last Friday. I have not taught he the CLEMSOOOON cheer but she does a mean "go tigers". She made me proud living here in the middle of cootlumbia.

That is pretty awesome, I'm sure you're a proud parent.

"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton

Love it!***

My son is also 2 1/2 and he is starting to understand the whole Saturday Clemson ritual. Only problem- he's been watching some of the games with me and he thinks he should be drinking a couple of beers like Dad when he does (I've been trying to cut back) We still have to work on the whole cheer thing, but he is mesmerized by the paw and the orange, etc. I love it! Future linebacker in the making...GO TIGERS!

My just turned 4 grandson will yell across a parking lot if he sees a gamecock " Go Tigers, Boo Gamecocks"!! Anytime he sees anything gamecock, he does the same. We have never "taught" him to do this.....he's just naturally brilliant....haha!

My son's first spelling word was 'Clemson' too.

Sep 22, 2011, 3:57 PM

He is now 3 1/2 and we still have to work on waiting for the "N" at the end. We read the Hello Tiger book every night for weeks and I would always do Tiger Rag when the band was on the field during the book. He started humming it with me and could spell Clemson at age 2. It was one of my proudest moments as a dad.

Yep - CLEMSON was the first word my sons could spell

Sep 22, 2011, 4:02 PM

for the exact same reason.
