that's one thing that david blackwell was adamant about at the iptay meet the coaches meeting a while back. why should we compare ourselves to USC?yes they're our rival but it's almost a given in football that we beat them and should be so in basketball after this year.

I'm measuring Clemson against USC is in the fact we're the State Champs and they ain't. Just wanna make sure that fact isn't lost. I'm certainly not measuring our overall success against their's.

It is called a rivarly. We are both in a small state. Your average fan will always compare their school to the other big school in the same small state regardless of what a coach thinks, regardless of how many times one team beats the other.

In football it isn't competitive. Clemson clearly owns the series quite easily. But fans will still talk about South Carolina or at least consider that the biggest game. Sure, there will be some fans that don't - that want to compare themselves to FSU or whoever but your typical fan will compare their season to South Carolina's.

In basketball is is highly competitive. USC leads the overall series but it is fairly close overall when compared to football. So it is pretty natural for fans of both schools to compare their team to their in state rival.

is clemsons basketball season over ? you got to be kidding! I thought you guys were in the NIT also,
what happened? We were supposed to meet in NY for
a much anticipated rematch. South Carolina will
be there ready for whoever shows up. To bad so
