My Unit is getting deployed once agian. If you can remember I just got back from Iraq in August. Well now they feel its appropriate to deploy us agian. Except for this time we will be going to Afganistan. We leave January 28th. Wow I just got used to being back home. And once more have to go another football season next year with out seeing a game. Wish me luck. Well atleast I get a Christmas. Go Tigers I'll keep you updated.

Thanks for all you do. Im in the Air Force in a non-deployable unit, The Honor Guard. The bad part of that is I spend everyday in Arlington National Cemetary giving military honors for our fallen heros. Sometimes I envy people who get to go overseas

that you are there fighting for us....both as Americans and yet another fellow Tiger that is making us proud that we are even REMOTELY (and I am personally would be lucky to be even mentioned in the same story as you sir, let alone the same sentence) connected in that we attended the same fine University as you. You be safe and please give our VERY best prayers and wishes to your fellow heroes. I know guys don't like that word sometimes as you are more humble than anyone but you are heroes to A LOT of people, so please never forget that !!!

I'm no hero. I will defend my country at any cost. Hero no, but thank you. I go over there and fight just so i can have to chance to hope and pray they don't come over here. I'm willing to give my life so no one here will have to see the horror I have to go through. Its well worth it. When I saw my daughter for the 1st time when I got back I realized that everything I did was for the future of not only her but for every other american. I pray that by me fighting this war this will end so we can let our families grow in peace and with out worry. I will pray for you and your family that you will be happy and peaceful when you sleep at night. I'm a soldier not a hero. If I die in the line of duty then maybe I can be one.

Firstly, soldier and hero are not different in our eyes. You go otu every day willing to give the ultimate sacrifice so we don't have to...and that's a hero man. you don't have to actually TAKE that sacrifice to be a hero.... just my very very humble two cents. And to be honest(and NOT ghey haha)....after what you just wrote you are even more of one to be sir. YOU praying for ME..... while YOU defend me and my family (which BTW, my wife is due with our first daughter on Sunday...so I have a greater THANK YOU for her too)....

Have a daughter is an amazing thing. I think that is the only person I wanted to see more than my mom when I got back. Even my profile picture on her is of the 1st time I got to hold her. I will be sure to give you and extra prayer. Congratualtions, I am so happy for you and your wife.
