Just read brad scott interview this dude is one big excuse

Aug 15, 2009, 12:33 PM

Ok so you had a couple bad breaks in 10 years get the efff over it and do your job. Excuses are for losers. Sorry that article really pissed me off. Read it and you'll know what I mean. Thank you danny pearman for helping him out

Just make an excuse for it

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's funny. The only place I've ever seen Coach Scott

Aug 15, 2009, 12:43 PM

criticized is on Tnet or some other fan website.

The man can coach, is highly thought of in coaching circles, college & high school, loved by his players and can flat out recruit.

The only finger pointing I see is from 'fans' like you.

no he really can't coach he is basically a used car salesman***

and if the OL does well this year I will give him credit

Aug 15, 2009, 1:08 PM

He will have done a good job if the OL does well. We are still young and still a little green, but he only has the g/c now so how much of the credit will be his will really not be known. I think he is more hot air than anything.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dude I'm way past finger pointing

Aug 15, 2009, 12:46 PM [ in reply to It's funny. The only place I've ever seen Coach Scott ]

And your comment about coaches and players respecting him means absolutely squat when those kids are in the trenches getting killed

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Getting killed? Gonna have to be a little more specific.

Aug 15, 2009, 12:49 PM

Are you referring to his former boss who was in charge of the O?

means absolutely SQUAT. Period !

So, if Terry Don Phillips can't do a better job coaching the

Aug 15, 2009, 12:54 PM

OL than Brad, does that mean his opinion means absolutely SQUAT too?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: So, if Terry Don Phillips can't do a better job coaching the

Aug 15, 2009, 1:27 PM

You missed the point. TDP is payed by the school to make those decisions. To make changes in all or part of the coaching staff.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't miss anyting. Your point was that if someone

Aug 15, 2009, 1:55 PM

doesn't know more about the profession of the person he is criticizing, their opinion of that person doesn't matter...because they don't possess the technical merit to render any sort of educated judgment. So, along those lines, since TDP doesn't know more about OL schemes than Brad, his opinion about our OL doesn't count.

You didn't say anything about anyone getting paid to make decisions, so you are backtracking a bit.

What about Barker, is he directly responsible for making changes to the coaching staff? If not, than according to your logic, his opinion about our fball team means SQUAT too, right?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

All we can do is measure results... if we don't perform over

Aug 15, 2009, 12:56 PM [ in reply to DUDE, unless you can prove you can do better, your opion ]

a long term period then fans have a right to demand answers. I love Brad, but he needs to perform this year.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I support coach Scott but I am anxiously waiting to see how

Aug 15, 2009, 12:54 PM [ in reply to It's funny. The only place I've ever seen Coach Scott ]

the line does this year. His unit has been our weakest link. Now I don't know how much of his fault that is but any reasonable fan has to know it's at least partial. So then, if the line does poorly again, I think it is in the best interest of the program to remove him as offensive line coach. Obviously this is ONLY in the scenario that our interior line does poorly again. Dabo shrank his responsibilities already. I think Dabo will be watching Brad this season as will I.

As for the excuses, I didn't read the article so I can't comment on it, but speaking of excuses in general, I think we have seen where those get us... 8 wins a year.

Re: I support coach Scott but I am anxiously waiting to see how

Aug 15, 2009, 1:00 PM

I support Brad also. Good man and coach. And let us not forget that for the 3 previous years he had to coach the OL out of that stupid 2 point stance. He's never coached that way, as has no one else except Rob Spence. This year is a big year for the OL, I think we'll be alot better. Experience means everything an the OL. You can't teach cohesion, it comes from playing together. Barring injuries we should have that this year.

He also only went to one bowl game- something both Spurrier and Holtz easily eclipsed.

didn't holtz have better seasons with BS players?
