Spring Break Story

Alright, so I'm on spring break up in the New England area visiting some friends. I walk into a small "diner" in downtown Boston to grab some breakfast this morning and sit down in a booth.

Someone left the Boston Globe behind and (I'm sure you guys know about Bob Ryan picking Clemson for the Final Four) Ryan's picks are on the front page of the sports section with a picture of Cliff Hammonds. It obviosly caught my eye and I read it while waiting.

I had my Clemson hat on and so as I have the paper open reading it, a guy walks by and says "go Tigers" with a smirk. I gave him a "go Tigers" back (although it was a little more enthusiastically than the man.)

A man sitting near me sees the exchange and says to me "Clemson student?"
I reply, "You got it."
I talked with the man about Villanova, because he was apparently a Big East man, and we ended up having a pretty lengthy conversation.

After the meal, the man says to the waitress, "Give me the kid's check. He's going to need some money for some Final Four tickets."

was in Charlotte for the tourney, went outside to see fi I could holler at James Mays and WHAM! Coach K steps in front of a Volkswagon Van....
